retired from sad, new career in business –Mitski
My name is Kayla Kerkos and I’m an aspiring Finance and Accounting major and Risk Management minor at the University of Nevada, Reno. I hope to go into corporate finance because of the dynamic, results-driven environment with opportunities for advancement. I’m very eager to deepen my understanding of finance and gain hands-on experiences.
I’m originally from Las Vegas and I was born and raised in a Korean household. I’m very proud of my heritage and am currently trying to learn the language to prepare to study abroad. UNR’s extensive study abroad opportunities were part of the reason why I decided to come here. It’s always been my dream to get closer to my culture after being so removed from it previously.
I want to maximize my time here in Reno, but it can get difficult with my workload as I juggle classes, extra-curriculars, and my new job at HR Block. To cope, I often turn to music. Some of my current favorite artists include Mother Mother, AJJ, My Chemical Romance, and Mitski!
